Prior to founding RingCentral, Vlad founded a company called RingZero Systems whose goal was to help other companies design communications systems that best suited their needs. Even though Vlad had very little experience in the market at the time, the company became a success largely due to his highly technical background in software engineering. RingZero focuses on small business communications on Microsoft Windows and has grown to become the leading provider of desktop communications software. Motorola Solutions Inc. (MSI) founded this company in 1994, after which Vlad took another step towards even greater innovation and developed RingCentral.
RingCentral
While RingZero was an incredible source of experience for Shmunis, it just wasn’t enough. He started working with Vlad Vendrow on a project to develop a cloud-based communications service and RingCentral was born. In addition to communication services, the Company provides enterprise collaboration products and services. RingCentral Office, RingCentral Professional and RingCentral Fax are RingCentral’s breakthrough products. The company is headquartered in Belmont, California and has offices around the world.
Unlike RingZero, which was developed solely by Shmunis, RingCentral was the result of both partners. Vendrow also worked with Shmunis at RingZero, where he served as Technical Director.
