Jerry Seinfeld grew up in Massapequa, New York and later graduated from Massapequa High School on Long Island. Later in 1981, he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, to critical acclaim from audiences. Jerry Seinfeld’s first hour-long Stand-Up Confidential special aired live on HBO on September 5, 1987.
In 1988, with Larry David, he created The Seinfeld Chronicles, which was later renamed Seinfeld and became the most-watched sitcom on American television. According to Jerry Seinfeld, this show was influenced by the sitcom The Abbott and Costello Show (1950s).
After the successful completion of the sitcom Seinfeld, Jerry returned to New York and pursued his passion for stand-up comedy.
