Johnson met his wife Stacie at a religious event when he was just 22 years old. Brandon Johnson’s career path

Earlier in her career, Johnson worked as a social studies teacher at George Westinghouse College Prep and Jenner Academy Elementary. As a teacher and member of the Chicago Teachers Union, he organized and actively participated in the 2012 Chicago Teachers’ Strike. In addition, he also played a key role in leading local campaigns during the 2015 Chicago Municipal and Municipal 2015. In 2018, Johnson himself ran for the 1st District on the Cook County Board of Commissioners against incumbent Richard Boykin.
